Grief Support Group
Beginning Wednesday 3/20/24 at 6 pm ONLINE
Facilitated by Lucy Guadalupe, LAMFT-T
There are many reasons why a person might feel/experience grief, both big and small. Truthfully, grief comes in different forms and at different times for everyone. What brings grief to one person may not bring grief for another.
In terms of group therapy, grief therapy is an appropriate form of therapy for anyone who is experiencing (or has experienced in the past) a major, unresolved loss of any kind. Grief therapy provided in a support group setting is often a great way of forming connections with others who are sharing similar experiences and can minimize the isolating feelings that often associate with grief. Common experiences a person may want to consider joining this grief support group include:
Experiencing the death of a family member, friend, or child (either born or unborn)
Witnessing a death or traumatic event
Experiencing a divorce or break up
Losing a close friend, coworker, or classmate
Experiencing the death of a pet or animal
Losing one’s job or home
Losing one’s religion, faith, culture, or support network
Experiencing the sudden loss of one’s health or well-being
Experiencing the sudden loss of an established routine or lifestyle
Anticipating the loss of someone or something
